To keep your home safe, the National Fire Protection Association recommends having your chimney inspected every year, and T.J.’s Chimney Service is here to perform that inspection when you need us!
Why Chimney Inspections?
Blockages of any kind in your chimney—whether it’s from animal nests, debris, or buildup from use—can cause fires, smoke problems or carbon monoxide poisoning.
This buildup—called creosote—is caused from the smoke, gases and particles released from the fires you’ve built in the fireplace. Creosote is extremely flammable, and can cause a fire if it goes undetected for too long.
The inspection also ensures the structural integrity of your chimney liner, masonry and chimney crown. These areas are hidden and often too high for a homeowner to see with a naked eye. But a chimney technician has the tools and training to accurately assess the damage and determine what kind of repair you might need.
Choose T.J.’s Chimney Service
T.J.’s Chimney Service has been providing chimney inspections to the residents of Indianapolis for over 40 years.
Our technicians are certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America, completing an intensive examination of the construction of chimneys, venting systems, fire codes and other standards.
We ensure everything is in working order using video inspection camera equipment to help us examine those hard-to-see areas of your chimney. If we do find problems, we can make recommendations on what needs to be repaired so your system burns cleanly and safely.
It’s our hope that you will put us on your annual inspection schedule with other ongoing maintenance projects of your home.
We are dedicated to keeping you and your family safe, and giving you peace of mind while enjoying the warmth of your fireplace each season.
If it’s been over a year since your last chimney inspection, contact T.J.’s Chimney Service today to schedule an appointment!
What Our Customers Are Saying on Google
So very happy with our updated fireplace! Brandon, David, and Austin did an awesome job. Professional, knowledgeable. Very careful in keeping everything neat and clean. I would recommend TJ’s to anyone who asked. Great job! We love our fireplace.
This company went above and beyond to make sure everything was done exactly as I wanted, and done correctly! The installers were professional and friendly, as well as the office workers! I can’t recommend this company highly enough.
Brandon and Jordan did an excellent and professional job of removing our old fireplace and installing the new fireplace. This included masonry and carpentry work. Brandon was very precise with his installation of the cultured stone around the fireplace as well as reinstalling the mantel and trim. We highly recommend them.

Hi! Tim here. I started TJ’s Chimney Sweep back in 1979 (which means we had our 36th birthday this year). I launched it as a way to earn a second income and to get away from working in a factory. This was right at the time when the old oil embargo was well under way…

It is summertime and you know what that means – it is thunderstorm season again. Every year, we experience about 100,000 thunderstorms in the U.S, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Do you know where your dryer vent is located? If we took a poll, a lot of people would probably say it’s the lint trap that they clean out after every load of laundry. Others might say it’s the hose that connects the dryer to wall. In actuality, your dryer vent system includes the hose…
