To keep your home safe, the National Fire Protection Association recommends having your chimney inspected every year, and T.J.’s Chimney Service is here to perform that inspection when you need us!

Why Chimney Inspections?

Blockages of any kind in your chimney—whether it’s from animal nests, debris, or buildup from use—can cause fires, smoke problems or carbon monoxide poisoning.

This buildup—called creosote—is caused from the smoke, gases and particles released from the fires you’ve built in the fireplace. Creosote is extremely flammable, and can cause a fire if it goes undetected for too long.

The inspection also ensures the structural integrity of your chimney liner, masonry and chimney crown. These areas are hidden and often too high for a homeowner to see with a naked eye. But a chimney technician has the tools and training to accurately assess the damage and determine what kind of repair you might need.

Our technicians are certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America, completing an intensive examination of the construction of chimneys, venting systems, fire codes and other standards.

We ensure everything is in working order using video inspection camera equipment to help us examine those hard-to-see areas of your chimney. If we do find problems, we can make recommendations on what needs to be repaired so your system burns cleanly and safely.
