Why a Chimney Sweep?

For the safety of your family and your home, it’s important to have your chimney inspected and swept annually. T.J.’s Chimney Service is CSIA certified and is standing by ready to help!

Your chimney is the passageway for smoke, toxins and dangerous fumes to leave your home.

When your chimney is clean, these elements escape quickly and easily.

But chimneys get dirty over time. Soot builds up in the fireplace, and a highly flammable, black, sticky residue called creosote accumulates on the inside of the chimney.

And sometimes birds and animals use dark, warm chimneys to build nests with dry twigs, leaves and debris.

This dangerous combination can lead to chimney fires, carbon monoxide poisoning, and possible health issues to you and your family.

While an annual chimney inspection and sweep is recommended, you should have it inspected immediately if you notice:

  • There is 1/8” of soot accumulated in the fireplace
  • The fireplace is pushing smoke into your living space
  • There is a strong odor coming from the fireplace

Our CSIA certified professionals use a heavy-duty poly bristled brush and state-of-the-art equipment, such as a video inspection camera, to examine and sweep the buildup and debris from the inside of your chimney. 

We ensure that every hidden space of the flue has been inspected and thoroughly cleaned, and we safely remove any animals or nests that may have taken up residence in your chimney—all while carefully ensuring that soot and dust don’t enter your home. We’ll leave your space in pristine condition.
